The Bus for the Land

We bought a bus to turn into a camper and put on our land.  It's a 1988 GMC with a 366ci engine and an Allison transmission.

  1. Love the new bus. Wish I had one like it.

  2. I've been wanting one for a long time. I wish it was a little more road worthy, but we're pretty much just going to put it on the land and leave it.

  3. I'd keep the engine in running order; you never know what use you might have for it. I don't think I'd leave the battery on it when you're gone, though! lol

    1. That's the cool thing about the battery compartment - it's on the side of the bus and easy to unhook! Going to haul the battery with us and start it every time we go to the land.

    1. My wife said last night, "Now that we have the bus, we can be hippies!"

My reply? "I'm puttin' in a gun rack, immediately."

  6. I lived in a school bus made into a camper for a year in NH as a kid. We had no running water either. It can be done.

    1. It's always encouraging to hear stories from people who have done it. There's a huge school bus conversion following out there.
