Zenith Shortwave, Bauer Down

Zenith shortwave.  The tubes hum, but I have yet to get it to work.

Eddie Bauer vintage down jacket.  I considered selling this, but it's quality.  You can't find a down jacket like this anymore unless you shell out a lot of cash.  I think I'll hold onto it.  It's wonderfully warm.

  2. I couldn't afford to buy another jacket like it at the moment. I'm keeping it. It's in new condition!

  3. Wow! Your lead-in dead tree photo is spectacular... Terrific photo! I'm so bad with a camera that my wife takes most of my shots. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

  4. Thanks, Big Daddy. I'm not much of a photographer. I just get lucky sometimes. My camera is a hand-me-down from my mom, made in 2003. It was an expensive camera back then, but pales by today's standards. Someday I'll get a DSLR. ;)

  5. That looks like a great jacket Mike. I love old school, high quality gear that's built to last. Also- going to add a link to your blog on the RMB main page. Meant to do this a long time ago but somehow it slipped passed me. Hope all is well . Jason

  6. Hey Jason. It's unbelievably warm. I don't know if you're getting the cold snap that we are, but it has saved my bacon on a few occasions lately. Thanks for adding the link. I'll link back as well. Haven't been doing much for adventuring, as I've been working a ton, but we're going to remedy that soon. Bought some land down by Guffey. Planning a winter expedition in with the children. Can't wait!

  7. Hi Mike, thanks for the link. Aren't you up near Fairplay? Oh yeah, -20 F here (without the windchill) for a few days-- was a great time to test winter gear-- had ice hanging from my eye lashes :) Glad that jacket worked for you. Down is definitely a lifesaver, but expensive. Always nice to grab it at a good price. Glad you're getting back to adventuring. Guffey aye? Is that anywhere near Florissant Fossil Beds?
